Based between London and Paris, Leona Connell will work on both the French and international markets. She will be managed by Rodolphe Buet, Chief Distribution Officer of Newen.

Newen Connect is one of the distribution leaders in Europe with 5,500 hours of programmes sold in over 130 territories.

Leona Connell joins Newen and will have for mission to optimise the value of Newen Connect’s content catalogue across all genres with broadcasters and platforms. She will lead the fiction and non-fiction sales team in France and internationally. Leona Connell will support all producers to enhance financial plans, to develop co-production partnerships and pre-sales. She will also have to boost multiterritorial agreements.

Leona Connell is a leading UK media professional with a strong experience in both sales and acquisitions and co-productions of contents and rights. She began her career with ITEL (one of the UK’s largest distribution companies which was acquired by the ITV group) and continued in 2004 with IMG, a leading US media and sports group, in the Sales & Acquisitions department. In 2010, she became Director of Sales & Acquisitions at Parthenon Entertainment Ltd (acquired by Sky UK in 2012). She then became Director of Global Sales at Sky Vision in 2012. Leona Connell has been Senior Vice President of Sales at NBC Universal since October 2019.
